Welcome to SELsMINE
A 2-year Erasmus+ project aiming to enhance SEL skills of
secondary school students in a collaborative MINecraft gaming Environment.
The Importance of SEL skills
Social-emotional learning (SEL) skills not only
improve academic performance, but also increase empathy, reduce depression and
stress during the tough times of social isolation and are highly effective in
addressing initiatives like anti-bullying, diversity and inclusion, and special
education.
Our Objectives
SEL-skills enhancement
The main goal of the project is to raise awareness about the challenges imposed by the COVID crisis, in terms of the social and emotional
wellbeing of children, through bringing the proper attention to SEL-skills
enhancement, as a necessary part of the school curriculum with sufficient time
allocated in the e-teaching activities.
Suppressing the negative impact of the pandemic
The project aims to reduce the negative impact of COVID-19 pandemic on learning and schooling in the long-term. A dual attempt to help students and
educators stay connected and engaged in a creative collaborative distance
learning, and an effort to ensure that all children will have
the opportunity to maintain and develop their socioemotional skills.
Propose Solutions
The promotion of SEL-skills instruction and learning practices in upper primary and lower
secondary educational level to address the challenges imposed by the COVID-19
pandemic such as school closures, physical distancing and loss of familiar
environments.
